WORK BEGINS AFTER A LONG TENDERING PROCESS
In late 2012, Caisse d’Epargne Aquitaine Poitou-Charentes put out the construction of its new headquarters in Bordeaux to tender. The contract was in due course awarded to Bouygues Immobilier, whose positive-energy Green Office concept appealed to Caisse d’Epargne.
Caisse d’Epargne Aquitaine Poitou-Charentes and the Bordeaux-Euratlantique public development authority recently signed the deed of sale for the land on which the regional bank's future headquarters will be built, enabling Bouygues Immobilier to proceed with development of the site. The structural works have now begun.
Green Office Bordeaux will host the 450 employees of the regional bank who are currently spread across various offices in Bordeaux such as the Mériadeck and Bordeaux lake districts. The building will be strategically located within Bordeaux, at the heart of the new Euratlantique business district situated between the Garonne river and the “les halles” area.
Green Office Bordeaux is also located close to the Saint Jean railway station. With the new high-speed train line opening soon, Bordeaux will only be two hours from Paris. Staff at the regional headquarters will also be able to travel easily to the bank's other hubs in Poitiers and Dax.
A POSITIVE-ENERGY BUILDING
In keeping with the Green Office concept, this seven-storey building will be "positive energy", meaning that it will produce more energy than it will consume for its operation.
This is made possible by its meticulous design. To produce energy, the building will be equipped with 1,000 m² of monocrystalline, high-yield photovoltaic solar panels. It will also be fitted with a highly efficient geothermal system using groundwater, combined with a heat pump, to produce heating and cooling. To perfect the energy performance, the building will have thermal and acoustic insulation, large windows to reduce the need for artificial lighting, and a concrete slab, without use of a false ceiling, to optimise thermal inertia.
Through these choices, Green Office Bordeaux can stake a claim to NF Bâtiments Tertiaires - Démarche HQE (High Environmental Quality) certification for office buildings and an excellent level Passeport HQE international certification.
HANDOVER SCHEDULED FOR LATE 2016
The future headquarters of Caisse d'Epargne Aquitaine Poitou-Charentes, boasting a floor area of 11,000 m², will offer optimum comfort to staff as well as a canteen, cafeteria, conference rooms and multi-purpose areas. It will also contain spaces for cars and bicycles. Additionally, this five-storey office will offer unmatched views over Bordeaux and the Garonne river. Handover is scheduled for late 2016.
