In May, Bouygues Immobilier and Schneider Electric announced the creation of Aveltys. This JV aims to be an expert in energy performance and in the long-term enhancement of office properties on the commercial property market in France. Aveltys will implement and guarantee Energy Performance Contracts (EPC) for new and existing office buildings in France. "For the1st time, one single player will be able to offer customers solutions and services to guarantee, from the design stage of a building and through its entire life-cycle, integrated energy performance", says Eric Mazoyer, deputy CEO of Bouygues Immobilier.
Based in Rueil-Malmaison, Aveltys is 51%-owned by Schneider Electric and 49%-owned by Bouygues Immobilier. The two groups will combine their complementary expertise in energy management, energy optimisation and in the design of high energy performance property developments.
As an operator committed to developing sustainable communities, Bouygues Immobilier began to apply the HQE® (High Environmental Quality) certification to all its major office property programmes from 2006. In 2011, Bouygues Immobilier opened the 1st positive-energy office property development in France: Green Office® Meudon. Sold to Scor, it came with the 1st ever private EPC for an office property, which guarantees the user full control over operating costs, according to predefined operating and occupancy principles, over the next nine years.
