Bouygues Immobilier is a leading private property developer in France and Europe, with 1,908 employees at 31 December 2017 and sales of €2,712 million in 2017. With 39 branches in France and four outside France, Bouygues Immobilier has nearly 60 years' experience in developing residential, corporate and commercial projects in more than 250 towns and cities. Bouygues Immobilier has a strong commitment to innovation and sustainable development and therefore seeks to provide better quality of life over the long term for all its customers by making their experience of the buying process and the use they make of the living spaces and services created for them as pleasant as possible. Bouygues Immobilier is the first developer to be certified ISO 9001 in France, NF Habitat HQE, and Top Employer France 2017, and to win the 2016 prize for the best customer relations awarded by the French Customer Relations Association (AFRC).
These efforts are making towns and cities better places to live in, as architecture and urban planning are put to work for the advancement of the environment and the welfare of the entire community. As part of its mission to strengthen social ties within neighbourhoods, the Bouygues Immobilier Corporate Foundation has been partnering for the past six years with “Unis-Cité”, a pioneering voluntary community service charity in France, while lending financial support to the “Médiaterre” programme in the eight cities (Bordeaux, Grenoble, Lille, Marseille, Nantes, Strasbourg, Lyon and Toulouse) and two administrative departments (Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-d’Oise) in which it operates. Médiaterre raises awareness among families in deprived neighbourhoods of environmentally responsible behaviour that can help reduce water and electricity bills. In 2014, the 529 families aided in this way saw an average annual saving of €200 on their utility bills (€91 for electricity and €108 for water).
Several projects involving Bouygues Immobilier employees have been carried out on a volunteer basis through Médiaterre: worksite visits, BBC low-energy building training and career-oriented presentations of Bouygues Immobilier's businesses. Additionally, employees have hosted young people at the end of their voluntary community service periods under the "Tremplins Jeunes d’Unis-Cité banner" - a day of action during which they were able to demonstrate experience gained before a panel of experts.
As it seeks to continue strengthening social ties, Bouygues Immobilier will, on 18 September 2015, hold a corporate community action day called "Solid’R", which all employees will be encouraged to attend. Action will be exclusively focused on the Médiaterre programme. The last time Solid’R was held in 2011, 82% of the workforce took part, representing over 8,400 hours of voluntary service in a single day.
In the words of François Bertière, Chairman and CEO of Bouygues Immobilier: "Getting young people on voluntary community service involved in civic action promotes social cohesion. Supporting Unis-Cité is a pivotal part of our Corporate Foundation's strategy for making tomorrow's towns and cities more sustainable and attractive places to live in."
