On 3 May 2010, François de Mazières, Chairman of the Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine, and François Bertière, Chairman of Bouygues Immobilier's Corporate Foundation, renewed the sponsorship agreement that enables Bouygues Immobilier's Corporate Foundation to confirm its membership of the Cité's Founding Partners Club. The Club's purpose is to bring together a small number of corporate sponsors well-known for their interest in architecture and heritage and for their pursuit of excellence and appetite for innovation.
In the space of three years the Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine, the world's biggest architecture centre with 22,000 sq metres of exhibition space, has become recognised as a leading international
player in urban planning, regional development and architectural innovation.
Bouygues Immobilier's Corporate Foundation, the Cité's biggest sponsor, has participated in its major events, notably the Habiter Ecologique (Living Ecologically) exhibition which took place from 13 May to 1 November 2009. Featuring eco-responsible alternatives and ideas for eco-housing, the exhibition aimed to raise awareness of lifestyles for a more sustainable urban environment.
Another of the Foundation's aims is to identify and encourage new talent. It has supported eleven projects as one of the sponsors of the New Albums for Young Architects and Landscape Designers
scheme (NAJAP). Under the three-year agreement with the Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine, Bouygues Immobilier's Corporate Foundation will be the exclusive founder partner in its particular field and will enjoy greater visibility. The initiative underlines Bouygues Immobilier's interest in the architectural quality of buildings and its commitment to sustainable development. "At Bouygues Immobilier, cooperating with the world of architecture is part of our genetic make-up", says François Bertière, Chairman and CEO of Bouygues Immobilier. "This approach is strengthened by the need to take account of the new conditions, linked to sustainable development, that now prevail in our businesses. It reflects the creative urge and the appetite for innovation and excellence that we share with architects."
